Online transactions later this year PDF Print E-mail
In order to provide on-line (internet) transactions, such as renewal of vehicle licences, before the end of the year, the Department of Transport had to replace the old NaTIS system with the eNaTIS.  The old NaTIS, a mainframe-like system, operated in a closed environment which in effect nullified the possibility of providing on-line transactions over the internet.

The eNaTIS is introduced in a phased manner.  At the launch of the eNaTIS on 17 April 2007  the core system was put into production with an additional functionality of a national booking system.

It is important to note that on-line transactions are NOT available at this point in time, but will be introduced before the end of 2007.  This web site (www.enatis.com) at this point in time  serves as a primary source of information to the public in respect of latest news, procedures to be followed, where to go, downloadable application forms and offering forums where people can enter into debate on applicable matters.  The public will also be kept up to date with progress on the introduction of on-line transactions as well as transactions through automated teller machines (ATM's).

One million transactions reached PDF Print E-mail
Just after 3pm on Thursday 19 April 2007, almost exactly a week after the eNaTIS went live, the millionth transaction was processed.  Almost a third of the million transactions were performed on Thursday.  The system has been performing well on Thursday and feedback from users in the provinces was largely positive.

The upgrades that was made in the data centre the previous day seemed to have stabilised the platform and it is expected that users will continually become more comfortable with the system.

The latest statistics as at 4:30pm on Thursday 19 April can be found below.
