Vehicle licence renewal - 2007/10/03 18:46 When will it become possible to renew vehicle licences online?

Surely, with nearly 9 million vehicles on the road, this should be a high business value feature?

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2007/10/03 20:23 I THOUGHT THE WHOLE IDEA OF THIS WEBSITE WAS THE RENUWEL OF MV LICENCES. BUT NOWHERE IS THERE ANY INDICATION THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY UP AND RUNNING. NO TEL TO PHONE FOR HELP AND NO HELP BUTTON. THIS MUST BE THE MOST UNFRIENDLY WEBSITE ON THE WEB A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. IF IT IS AVAILABLE WHERE AND HOW DOES IT OPERATE. FOR THE HELL OF ME I CAN NOT FIGURE THIS ONE OUT.

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2007/10/10 20:53 I agree that the ability to renew your vehicle licence online will be invaluable to the frustrated masses. Is there an option to at least make the payments with EASYPAY?

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2007/10/12 03:02 Agree that licence renewal other than standing in a queue will help everyone. After all, govt should make it as easy as possible to pay your tax. First implemented step was to distribute licence renewal notices to the 4 provinces that previously did not send them. Those people can now also mail in their payments. Discussions are continuing with the banks and other deposit taking channels. The business principles (who's responsible, who pays for what, how do the money get to where it should be) are being sorted out. The technology is discussed at the same time.

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2007/11/27 22:44 Hi,

My vehicle license was stolen along with my ID. How do I go about getting a new license card, to I need to do my drivers again?
Surely all the details are on the system, can I not just go through to the traffic department and apply for a new card? I dont even have my temporary ID to bring with so can they not just get my details off the system and issue a new license card?

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2007/12/04 05:43 Your driving licence is indeed linked to your ID, the record should remain on the system. You can only lose your driving licence through a court judgement or the points demerit system (not in operation yet).

Application for process must be accompanied by an acceptable form of identification. This is to ensure that documents are indeed issued to the right person.
A South African citizen may use a temporary or permanent ID or valid passport.

When you order your new driving licence card, it is advised that you apply for a temporary driving licence as driving without proof that you have a licence, is an offence.

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2008/01/25 18:05 If you have not received a renewal notice, submit application for vehicle licence on form ALV http://www.enatis.com/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,58/Itemid,26/ accompanied by your ID and the fee.

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2008/02/02 08:04 No direct public access to the eNaTIS data exist. Contact either your local authority or the province. If all else fails, post a mail to the webmaster at http://www.enatis.com/component/option,com_contact/task,view/contact_id,1/Itemid,3/ so that your privacy is protected.

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2008/11/11 02:55 It is apparent that eNatis will not allow one to renew your motor license as it's now a year later and nothing has changed.

At least if I could view my car's licensing status, that would help.

Re:Vehicle licence renewal - 2008/11/24 15:00 My vehicle licence expires on 31/12/2008. I did not receive postal notification of the expiry (as in the past). I subsequently went to Menlyn Roadworthy Centre and renewed my vehicle licence through them (excellent service - charges only R60 additional to the standard licence costs). I noticed however that my new licence expires on 31/10/2009 and not 31/12/2009. How is this possible? I'm losing two months on my new licence... Anyone experienced the same problem? I know this was the same scenario with the drivers licences a couple of years ago.
