Archives - 2008/06/03 19:09 Why does it take more than six weeks to get a vehicle taken off archives? I have been waiting for seven weeks now and still nothing has happened.

Very frustrating considering that I will still have to pay for the time that the application takes in outstanding licencing fees.

Unacceptable.....

Re:Archives - 2008/06/05 03:24 I agree that it is unacceptable. Of course, the delay could have a good reason but then you should be told. If a problem exist that the normal transactions cannot address, a call will be logged in the call logging system. Such a problem can be followed up if the call number is supplied.
You should not be held liable for the arrears and penalties, the authority should backdate the 'effective date' to the date you submitted all the required documents as it is the date you have met the requirements for the process to be done. The applicant cannot be penalised for inefficient procedures 'behind the scenes'.
Please keep in mind that, after the vehicle has been restored from the archive, you still have to have the vehicle cleared by the police and obtain certification of roadworthiness before a licence can be issued.
