2005 Opel Corsa Srapped by mistake! - 2008/04/24 17:56 Dear Mr Dreyer

2005 OPEL CORSA 1.4S UTILITY
Registration Number – BRY212NC

On 8 February 2008 I bought a 2005 Opel Corsa 1.4s Utility from Mr P.J. Rheeder.
The car is in good condition and has the owner assured me the car was never in any accidents. He gave me a report from his Insurance brokers where the car was financed from new and it states that the car was never in any accidents.
It was never reported stolen and is not a Code 3. It has 52000km on the clock with full service history.

We were in Pretoria and the registration papers for the car was in Kathu.
Mr P.J. Rheeder asked his neighbour, Mr Maas to get the registration papers and go to the testing station in Kathu to get a “change of ownership” paper and then send to Pretoria where I was making loans to get the agreed purchase sum of R80000.

Mr Maas went to the licence department in Kathu and said he needed a form to get this car of his neighbour’s Mr PJ Rheeder’s name because it was sold to me.

For some unexplainable reason did the licence department in Kathu by means of Ms Hinana, scrap the car without the knowledge of the legal owner.
This was done after she first renewed the licence without the knowledge of the legal owner. When the papers arrived in Pretoria we realised that the car was scrapped after we got the RWC and went to the testing station to do the Change of ownership.

We contacted the testing station in Kathu and Ms Hinana realised that she made a huge mistake and immediately phoned the Helpdesk person, Mr Stone. Mr Stone could not do anything at the stage, as he did not have the facts.

Mr P.J. Rheeder was told that he needed a Police avidavid to declare exactly what happened. That he did.
Ms Hinana gave us a Police avidavid in which she acknowledge the fact that she did not follow the correct procedure in and that it was just a big mistake.

Both these avidavids was sent to Kimberley to the eNaTIS head office where Mr Ramond apparently has to give it to Mr Dreyer who has to do the correction by reversing the human error fault, which was made by Ms Hinana of the Kathu Testing station.

Mr Dreyer was contacted telephonically on 24 April 2008 and he confirmed that it was a human error and that it can be corrected at national level.
Mr Dreyer said he would contact me on 072 601 8336 to keep me updated and informed as he takes this to be a very serious matter.

Mr Dreyer Head of ENaTIS
Cel: 083 454 4670

I hope to hear from Mr Dreyer soon.

Re:2005 Opel Corsa Srapped by mistake! - 2008/04/28 19:08 The issue has been logged on 2008/04/24 13:54 with reference number HD30332. The first date of liability for licensing is 2004-11-15. The new owner is already liable for arrears and penalties calculated from the stated ownership start date of 2008-02-08. The forms submitted at Kathu will be the determining factor in the decision of the province.

Re:2005 Opel Corsa Srapped by mistake! - 2008/05/08 00:41 Dear Mr Dreyer

As per our last conversation you said that you and Mr Ramond has inspected the nessasary documents and have sent the documents to National head office in Pretoria for final approval.

Who is the contact person at Pretoria National who is working on this matter?

Re:2005 Opel Corsa Srapped by mistake! - 2008/05/10 00:18 This is a public forum, not the official communication channel with the officials. Your personal details is now in the public domain, so you might expect the criminals to abuse your ID number rather sooner than later.
However, as far as call HD30332 refers, this legal matter was referred back to the Northern Cape DoT on 2008-05-09 08:43 as the Contractor has no decision power in this respect. You are advised to contact Mr Dreyer directly.
