Booking for driving licence test - 2006/07/20 00:09
Is it necessary for a centralised booking system? Why can we not book our driving licence test directly at the test centre? It is currently a very frustrating process

Hi Bennie I am the Project Manager of the NaTIS system. We are currently developing a new system called the eNaTIS. On the eNaTIS we developed a distributed booking system. When the system is implemented towards the end of the year all bookings will be done on the system at the respective testing centres. We are confident that this will resolve all the frustrations currently experienced.

And what are we supposed to do in the mean while. I've been trying to get a date for the past year, I got one and then he failed me because I supposedly rolled. I really need a licence urgently

I have been struggling for at least 5 months to get my drivers booking, i got a date finally, 50km from where I live. I get there and am failed because my hooter of the car I got tested in happened to malfunction at the time. Although 10 minutes later it worked perfectly and was refused anyhow.. Although my car was described as unroadworthy, it was no problem for them to let me drive home.. the 50km trip in my unroadworthy car. YOU HYPOCRITES CAN STICK YOUR "NEW" SYSTEM UP YOUR BUREAUCRATIC A-HOLES!!!

The Midrand licensing centre does not work on the system. to receive a booking a person must arrive early in the morning, 06:30 is probably safe. They only hand out a certain amount of bookings per day, and the bookings are all for that day a week on. So book today and this time next week you write. Kallie Heidt aswell as a few of the employees are not yet desensitised to the really stressful life it must be to work at the centre, and are very friendly and believe it or not helpful as far as failing computer systems and outdated buearocracy allow them to be. The problem is that it is no secret that at Midrand you have a chance to progress, and every hopeful in the world are there, so that is why you have to get there early to beat the queues.

I live in Stanger,KZN North Coast. The testers here has vowed to fail every driver,no matter how good he/she drives. The municipality needs money,so why not rob the honest citizen who simply wants to be ligit. If the tester is in a good mood, you will be lucky to pass the third time. It is easier to get a fake licence. safedriver

Re:Booking for driving licence test - 2007/05/02 19:18
WHat is the point of this all. We cant book on this site, and when i try call the so called national number i get a voice prompt telling me that the bookings are done from 8am-12pm, but office hours are 9am....so whats the use? Then I phone at 08:55am, 9:00am and onwards and guess what? Its the voice prompt again. My learners expires in October....and I probably wont get a booking and then I will have to start this annoying process all over again!!
I am not happy!!

Re:Booking for driving licence test - 2007/05/15 18:51
I wonder wht the Dept even has this site up if they dont take it seriously. I am now faced with a situation of having my learners expire in the next few days and have not been able to get any dates from Gauteng till year end. That is the most serious joke I have ever been told.
What I find most appauling about the instructors is their lack of consistency. When I failed my last test, I was told by a rather rotund gentleman in Umtata that I was two minutes over the limit for the yard test. Maybe he wasnt aware that I had been there since the morning and had noticed his gentlemanly behaviour towards a lady who battled for a half hour before they still went on the roads.
I cant get an extention (at least I think) and that becomes my problem, is it my problem that the service in Gauteng is in shambles. Is it my problem that the best way to get help these days is to pay someone R2000 - R3000 for what costs no more than R600.
Can a government official please respond to me, I am keen on hearing what my government has to say for me.

Sounds like we are all in the same boat, its funny, cos you would think this boat would tip over soon...nope! It just fills up,like a black hole,no ending, and plenty of space....
I have been looking around on this site, and I dont see any officials replying to anyone, maybe this site was just sort of their way of shoving a dummy in our mouths to keep us happy and quiet...
Vent our frustrations...?Yet the only people listening are the only people that ever listened, the very same people that are venting...US!
And where are the officials? On lunch-ofcourse! Gotta love government!
