License - 2008/08/14 20:47 I applied for my drivers license renewal some time ago. I tried to phone to find out if it is ready for collection, but they dont answer the phones. Where can I find out what the status is of the card 402100126LJ3.

Re:License - 2008/08/16 06:39 Your new card ordered on 2008-08-02 was sent to the DLTC on 2008-08-09. Collect the card at Germiston DLTC.

Re:License - 2008/08/18 23:58 Thanks Roelof. I was there this morning and they said I should come check again in a week. Why? Will there be a feature on the site in the future to do this sort of checks. It will be quite handy and a big time saver.

Re:License - 2008/08/20 07:21 The procedure requires that the 'book in' the cards as they arrive, then everyone knows that the card is at the DLTC. Our experience is that the cards are not filed immediately, that's why they cannot find the card even if it was sent to them 2 weeks back.
I am not sure whether it will be on this site, but specific web queries are being developed. Everyone is waiting for proper access to their own info. One of the questions are how to register such users, it may very well be in a manner similar to internet banking.

Re:License - 2008/08/21 21:19 I went to the DLTC this morning and they told me that it is not there. Now I am not sure where the card is.

You get a receipt to tell you to phone before collection, but nobody answer the phones there.

I will indeed be looking forward to the ability to view and request reports online. Registering web profiles can be done in various ways, but it has to be secure. The way internet banking registrations was done is good, but in this case how would you validate that the user is in fact that person?
