Learner's licence bookings - 2008/07/05 00:05
Hi -
I'm 28 and have been driving for 10 years without a licence precisely because of the inefficient beauracracy I've encountered while trying to get a licence.
I've made the decision to 'do the right thing' and attempt to actually go through the whole process. I've spent the whole of today trying to a) find out where I can book that's not going to leave me maybe getting an appointment in 2009 sometime, and b) uncover the secret location of your centralised booking system.
a) These are the stations marked with 'DLTC' as provided by the eNatis site - 
Those marked in pink did not even answer the phone. Those marked in blue, did, but provided little beyond '2009' or vague guesses about 'sometime in December. Maybe'.
b) To my understanding the point of a centralised system is to be able to provide those looking to book the ablility to find a place close in both time and space to themselves - or is this not the case? I'd imagine that you have a call center (I see it mentioned in other forum posts, not under 'contact us' however) who can provide that kind of information? Perhaps take a telephonic booking? (haha).
And unrelated, Joomla is the best a national agency can do? wow.
