License renewal..........not - 2008/06/17 22:50 I have just spent 3 hours with the local incompetents at Midrand Licensing only to be told that some other incompetent had reject my renewal application.
No notification from eNatis whom apparently were the cause of the rejection, just another 3 hours of my life wasted because people cannot do the job they are paid to do.
Now I get the opportunity of driving with an expired license. No wonder people buy illegal licenses.

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/17 23:15 I assume that you refer to a driving licence renewal; it is not clear from your post. Please provide the licence number of your current card (no ID number on this public forum please) so that the case can be investigated.

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/17 23:21 The number you asked for is 40210012611c and the renewal was done on 6th May 2008 in Midrand, plenty of time for a license that expired on 14th June 2008, one would think.
Let us not go into the additional expenses this is now going to cost me. More photos, more travelling, but who cares I am just the idiot customer whom no one gives a toss about.

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/17 23:55 The Card Production Facility (CPF) compared your finger prints (left and right thumb) submitted on 2008-05-06 with the reference set of 2003-06-13 and found that they do not match. I have contacted the manager at the CPF for a follow-up as all the involved parties have to ensure that the next fingerprints do match the reference set.

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/18 19:47 As I have not had a hand or finger replacement I can only believe that it is the licensing staff that messed up.
Now while this mess, through no fault of mine, is being resolved had do I legally drive?

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/18 23:17 Regulation 108(6) provides that your driving licence card remain valid for 3 months from your application on 6 May 2008, provided that you have the receipt with you.

In the mean time, we are working on the details but I suggest that you submit another application for a new card as I cannot guarantee that the investigation at the CPF will conclude that an error was made. The card should cost you nothing to order as you paid on 2008-05-06 but have not received any card.

Does your current card have a fingerprint on the back?

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/18 23:32 It is good to know that I am good for 3 months.
However you now tell me that I need to go to the licensing department, where the thought of customer service is not something they have heard of and spend another 3 hours away from my customers/job because of an error I did not make. I don´t think so.
BTW Yes there is a fingerprint on the back of my ¨current¨ license.

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/19 03:14 The DLTC is the only place that can really resolve the issue. A revisit is unavoidable. Take note that we have no powers over the authorities, we are only technical contractors. I have asked the CPF to verify the fingerprint mismatch, but it is possible that they indicate that they indeed do not match. So, if you postpone your revisit for too long, you might need to get a temporary driving licence as well.

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/21 02:09 Reference image cancelled at Help Desk on 2008-06-20 at 10:45. This is done to address fingerprint mismatch problem. DLTC still has to order card.

Re:License renewal..........not - 2008/06/27 16:04 Just how long does it take to produce a laminated card?
Surely it should have been done by now.
