ppp_itech_clp_binary_flow_sIn May 2008, vehicle licensing transaction volumes on the National Traffic Information System (eNaTIS) showed an increase of 6.12% compared to the previous month. 

Interface transactions (performed on other computer systems that have interfaces to the eNaTIS) increased by 20.54% in April, and the trend continued in May with a further increase of 2.46%. The total number of transactions performed on the system increased by 0.38% compared to April. 

On 27 May 7,830 reports were executed on the system, the highest number for a single day since the launch of the eNaTIS. These reports are utilised for, among others, financial reconciliations and audits.

The full breakdown of the transactions performed during May 2008 is as follows: 71,024 learner’s licence authorisations, 187,651 driving licence card orders, 69,173 vehicle record introductions, 259,244 vehicle registrations and 777,791 vehicle licensing transactions. In addition, 95,915 reports were executed on the system.

The 8th of May was the busiest day with 642,694 transactions performed.

4,439,128 transactions were performed on other computer systems that have interfaces to the eNaTIS (such as those of the South African Police Service, vehicle manufacturers, banks and insurance companies), while users of the eNaTIS application at registering authorities, testing stations and provincial authorities performed 8,560,253    transactions.

The Johannesburg service centre once again performed the most transactions (292,708) followed by the City of Cape Town (217,035), Pretoria (209,605), Durban (122,634) and Port Elizabeth (71,137).

With 66,364 transactions Toyota SA was the most active non-governmental entity using a system-to-system interface with the eNaTIS, followed by BMW SA (27,154), Volkswagen of SA (26,682), Mercedes-Benz of SA (25,848) and the Delta Motor Corporation (19,813).
